About Me

Inorganic Chemistry

Prof. Asim Kumar Das is currently a professor of chemistry, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan. He passed both B.Sc. (Hons in chemistry) in 1981 and M.Sc. (specialization in Inorganic Chemistry) in 1983, standing First class First, from the University of Calcutta. He received his Ph.D. degree from the same University under supervision of Prof. D. Banerjea, the then Sir Rashbehari Ghose Professor of Chemistry. He received his D.Sc. degree from Visva Bharati in 2002. Apart of being a gold medalist in masters level and First Class First in the Bachelors, he has also received many awards and honours such as National Scholarship, Jubliee Merit Prize (University of Calcutta), Ronit Protiva Trust Award, Award from Chattogram Parishad & Chemist’ Convention Award from the Indian Chemical Society. He is also a renowned author and till date he has authored 11 books on various aspects of Inorganic Chemistry.
