RESEARCH INTERESTs

Our primary goal is to take one step forward towards alternative energy to cope with the global energy demand and combat environmental issues. To achieve that, we employ computational heterogeneous catalysis based on first-principles methods in the areas of nanomaterial science.

About me

Physical Chemistry

Dr. Biplab Rajbanshi was born in Murshidabad district, WB, in 1990. He completed his Bachelors in Chemistry (B.Sc.) and Masters in Chemistry (M.Sc. , Physical Chemistry special) at Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan in year of 2010 and 2012, respectively. He did his PhD from the research group of Prof. Pranab Sarkar of the same department in December, 2017. After that he joined University of South Carolina, Columbia, USA, as a post-doctoral fellow under the guidance of Prof. Andreas Heyden in January, 2018. After the first postdoc of about two and half years, he joined the research group of Dr. Peng Bai of University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA for his second postdoctoral experience in August, 2020. He is currently a faculty of Physical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry, Visva-Bharati since December, 2020. His current research interest is to take one step forward towards the alternative energy to cope with the global energy demand and combat environmental issues, employing computational heterogeneous catalysis based on first-principles methods in the areas of nanomaterial science.
