Prof. Swapan Kr Chandra

Swapan K Chandra was born in Godi Bero,Purulia in 1963. He obtained his Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Burdwan. He obtained his Ph.D from the Indian Association for Cultivation of Science, Kolkata, under supervision of Prof.Animesh Chakravorty, who is a Bhatnagar Awarde. During this time he was extensively involved in research work in the field of structural inorganic ,solid state, and Magnetochemistry. After completion of his Ph.D he joined IACS as a Research Associate in 1992. Two years later he joined Kent State University, USA as a Post-Doctoral fellow. Subsequently he joined Indiana University , USA as Post-Doctoral Research associate, and worked with George Christou. After returning to India he joined University of Burdwan as a senior lecturer of Chemistry. Currently he is holding the position of Professor of chemistry at Visva-Bharati.
